when i was 12,
i liked hot pink
and all the stereotypical things
people my age liked –
one direction was my jam
and skirts my program.
now, i am 17,
prefer purple over pink,
which has more depth,
and make my own path
with music and NF
and jeans and sweats.
i may not know everything,
but i know more than 12
now at 17
i feel like i’m finally fine.
A/N: This poem needed to be in all lower-case letters. I don’t know why, but it needed and needs to be.
Yes, ever year we know a little more, don’t we? We don’t always use the knowledge wisely, though…

Beautifully written Jess!
Your letter “i” is a personal pronoun, would be more better you capitalize it- “I”.
Ink on Jess!

Thank you for reading! Yes, sometimes I capitalize the “I” and other times I don’t (in poetry, never for official class assignments lol)… it’s more of a stylistic choice with me, but I will definitely keep that in mind when I write!
