starlight

As the time warps around us,
the desperation of millions blinks
like fading starlight
erupting in the night sky.
Though we are each someone’s dream,
the only thing I am certain of,
more than the spinning of Earth
or the sun rising after darkness,
is that when the world is enveloped
in eternal light,
I will continue to follow the starlight
towards a better future.
