Holding the breath of air
in a glass jar,
sparkling like crystals and how memories
of youth turn gold with age
and how those left behind rage,
the world seems to pause —
the sky left you defenseless
and stole your wings
and watched silently as you fell.
I am left here, holding your smiles,
laughs, and breaths in my arms,
all that is left
of should-have-beens, could-have-beens,
and the pauses in between.
Your life stole my life.
Now, I can only shed tears in silence.
A/N: Expressing my condolences for the victims of the 3/21 China Eastern Airlines Flight Accident.
