the usual wishes
of being better people
turn into cycles
of wishes and unfulfillment.
A/N: usually, we say we are going to be better people than our parents. In some cases, these parents are the lowest of the low or somewhere on that level. For others, they are human beings who make mistakes. The following only refers to the latter case. It’s hard to empathize with them at times because you know what’s best for you, and they want/try to do what’s best for you… Sometimes these interests clash and spawn resentment. In the end, however, who you want to be and who you perceive them to be do not coincide, and the next generation grows up hoping to be better than those who raised them. The cycle never ends.
