we walked to the crossroads,
our arms linked tight,
unwilling to let go.
the night came,
and our eyes were blinded,
with it blustered a storm
that tore us apart.
when we opened our eyes
to the clear daylight,
the ground dry once more,
we were standing
in opposite directions.
Beautiful and powerful. I feel this describes a feeling of change and letting go as our paths lead to very different lives. A remarkable poem and it’s pretty inspiring in its strength.
